Kid-Friendly DIY Edible Mask

Strawberry Fountain of Youth Mask

May is almost gone, which means summer is right around the corner. One of my baby sister’s favorite fruits is strawberries; we always have them in the refrigerator just for her. As for myself – I love strawberry lemonade. So needless to say, the ingredients for this mask are always in my fridge.

This is an easy, edible, effective mask and if the ingredients are not already in your fridge, you can get everything you need (for it) at your local grocery store. This mask is so easy to make, you can make it with your teens. It’s a great option for taking care of their skin and it gives you more time with them especially since at that age, their time is so scarce.

And... this mask makes you feel ever-so pampered. Here’s the recipe:

2 plump Strawberries

1 Tablespoon Honey

1 Tablespoon of Collagen Powder

1 Tablespoon Greek Yogurt

1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice (optional)

Strawberries contain Vitamin C and help fight free radicals. Honey is an anti-bacterial agent and also contains antioxidants. Collagen powder is the anti-aging product – it helps reduce skin’s aging. Greek yogurt adds the protein and helps fade blemishes and reduce wrinkles. Lemon juice (optional) adds Vitamin C. When you add the lemon juice, you could call it a Strawberry Lemonade Facial.

Start with crushed strawberries. How spoil me is that?

Then, add the honey, then the collagen powder (which will help thicken the mask so it’s not as runny). Next, you’ll add the yogurt (choose Plain Greek yogurt) it will also help thicken the mask.

Since we’re working with natural ingredients, after you apply the mask, you’ll want to leave the mask on for about 15 – 20 minutes. You’ll want to give your skin time to absorb all properties and benefits of the ingredients. Then you will want to remove the mask with warm water and a clean cloth.
