There are so many things that seek to destroy or steal our peace these days and while they attempt, they can't have it. There are definitely some days that it takes work to maintain peace. When you carry peace within you – you handle stressors and events more calmly. Below are seven ways to keep your peace when it feels like the world is seeking to steal it.

1. Think About Things For Which You’re Grateful

We have so much and there are people around the world who have so little. If you focus on the things you have instead of the things you do not have, possibly you’ll notice a change in your demeanor.

2. Stop Complaining And Focusing On Negativity

Complaining is a hostile activity that when we do it, we think we feel better in the moment; however, all that negative energy eventually returns to you when you send it out through complaining.

3. Take Care Of Your Mind

For your mind, play mental games, work on word puzzles, think about math problems, and keep your mind active by doing productive activities.

4. Take Care Of Your Body

Go for daily walks. Eat life-giving food, increase your fresh fruits and vegetables, and make sure you get plenty of sleep.

5. Take Care Of Your Spirit

Spend some down time or self-care time. Think about your goals and accomplishments. Pull out your journal and write down things you need to release. Daydream and write down new adventures you’d like to take.

6. Get Rid Of The Extra Clutter

Often our inability to maintain peace is because we focus on so other things and sometimes the things we focus on are not things we should even give our attention to.

7. Practice Nonjudgment

When you judge, you open the door to anger and resentment. Labeling anything as “bad” or unfair begins to rob you of your peace.
