Hypnotherapy: Definitely a Help

I had a hypnotherapy session this week and wanted to share my experience. I believe people truly can benefit from the variety of holistic practices.
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy uses guided relaxation, intense concentration, and focused attention to achieve a heightened state of awareness that is sometimes called a trance.
One of my goals was to become more productive, organized, and effective. I think guided visualization is something that most people need to try. Sometimes we have to get over the fear of experimenting with new things. Since this was my first session, I was a little nervous and leery. I thought hypnosis was not so much giving up free will, but more like a pseudo-science. I went to the appointment with the intention that if this was something I was going to commit to, then I needed to add it to my budget.
My experience was amazing! During the session, it was so weird, it was like my eyes were open and we were holding a conversation and then I would hear myself snore and would realize my eyes were not open. Then, immediately, I would drift back off. I would see the visuals and see what she was telling me and then I would hear myself asleep and realize that my eyes were still closed.
After the experience, I realized that I could see myself becoming organized. It helped me re-organize my life. My experience was much more relaxing, than I thought it would be. I learned that it is okay to get help (in life) because that’s where you can find your peace.
As I was leaving, I was ready to get organized, productive, and effective. As I was coming out of the hypnosis, I had a laundry list of things (in my head) that I immediately put into my phone. I distributed my list between my 24 hour, my 7 day, and my 2 week todo lists of things that I wanted to get done. Now, instead of just dumping the things I wanted to get done on a list, I placed them in a more strategic way on my calendar.
I am eager to see how the rest of this month unfolds; I booked a follow up session in 30 days. I’m excited to see how the productivity works. I like that my hypnotherapist gave me a 21 day recording so I remember the experience. And the recording is specialized to me and my needs so that if I listen to it every night, during my meditation sessions, it should reaffirm and build upon what we did in the session. That... I love!
Who I believe would benefit from this therapy (the most)?
I would recommend this type of therapy for someone who seriously needs to see a shift or change in their life and would honestly put in the ground-work to bring it forth. This type of therapy is good for someone who struggles with making the shift on their own. If you struggle with visualizing your goals or you start the visualization process and in the middle of that process you find yourself hitting road blocks – not being able to see what could be next, or able to build that visual structure for what you want to come to fruition – then you may want to try this.
