Ayurveda is for Everyone

I’ve been using ayurvedic practices for many years. It’s one of the reasons Esthetics by P Brown is a Holistic Day Spa.

Ayurveda is one of the oldest practices or healing systems that combines mind, body, and spirit and is based on ancient wisdom. The word literally means “knowledge of life” and it’s a belief system that focuses on healing the whole body and not just one ailment. It’s based out of India and uses formulas including diet, herbs, meditation, and yoga. A common belief is that wellness stems from healthy living.

Ayurveda is more popular these days; a lot more people are practicing Ayurveda and you may be one of them.

COMMON AYURVEDA PRACTICES:

Do you…

* Add turmeric to your food/ diet?

* Use healthy oils in your food when cooking or preparing it?

* Use healthy oils in your skincare routine? (In one of my videos I mentioned that I frequently use coconut oil after my shower to seal in the moisture.)

*Drink Herbal tea, Rooibos tea, or Green tea?

* Attend a yoga class or practice at home?

If you answered yes to any of these, you are more familiar with Ayurveda than you probably imagined.

ADDITIONAL AYURVEDIC PRACTICES:

*Dry brushing which is a technique that helps with exfoliation, increases blood circulation and stimulates your nervous system.

*Meditation is a technique where you still your mind and helps with focus and centering.

Those who practice Ayurveda, believe that the key to health and wellness lies in our digestion and they ascribe to certain food choices according to our doshas. You’ve probably heard me talk about my dosha.

There are three Dosha elements: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha – a Dosha is shown in all aspects of us (in general); the way we think, eat, sleep, and function. Each person has at least a primary and/or a secondary Dosha.
